Job Duties/Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Manager of OSS Systems Integration – NMS & Infrastructure, Bell Mobility Wireless Network, the Systems Analyst (SA) specialist will be responsible for the design and  seamless integration of NSN/Huawei /Cisco/ALU HSPA & LTE OSS (Operational Support Systems) NMS solutions into the Bell Mobility OSS production network, from the installation in the Bell Mobility Innovation Lab to the co-ordination of the deployment into production. He will also be responsible for 2nd & 3rd level support for these same systems.

 

In his role, the SA specialist will:

  • Work with NMS Architects (high-level design) and Business Analysts (requirements detailed analysis) in order to create the detail design document for which he is accountable
  • Help Business Analyst in the creation of use case/requirements specifications and the creation of test plans and test cases;
  • Validate vendor procedures (MOPs) from NSN, Huawei, Cisco and ALU
  • Challenge vendor best practices as they pertain to the Bell Mobility network
  • Work alongside the vendor to install their solutions in the Bell Mobility Innovation Lab
  • Facilitate the integration into OSS Operations by performing knowledge transfer and deployment plans reviews with the OSS Operations primes
  • Participate in the testing of the various changes brought into the network in relation to the OSS’s, including impacts on alarms, OM’s & CM/IM
  • Follow the standard ITIL processes implemented in Bell Mobility (Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management and Service Level Management)
  • Create and communicate detailed internal deployment plans
  • Work with the OSS Project Managers and the OSS Release Manager to obtain stakeholders buy-in
  • Co-ordinate the deployment of the vendor solutions into the production network, paying particular attention to quality communications and the escalation process (actual deployments occuring mostly after normal workhours)
  • Manage the respective vendors to resolve issues found during the testing and deployment phases

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technologies, Software Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • At least five (5) years of practical experience integrating OSS NMS HSPA/LTE solutions such as NSN NMS, Huawei NMS, Cisco NMS, ADTRAN EMS and ALU EMS
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise documents and presentations
  • Highly-organized individual, detail-oriented and process-oriented
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in an environment where priorities change frequently
  • Knowledge of and experience working with HP/Sun/Cisco platform architectures
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of and experience working with TCP/IP communications systems
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Citrix applications presentation layer
  • Knowledge of and experience working with VMWare virtualization environments
  • Familiar with shell and Perl scripting and ability to build a simple script to automate tasks

           

Other:

  • Willingness to work at night when deploying solutions outside of normal working hours     

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Databases such as Oracle, SQL
  • Knowledge of Data Storage systems such as Sun, Hitachi, EMC

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
