The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.

The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.

 

The Bell Workforce Management Team (WFM Team) provides key planning, reporting, and execution support for Bell’s Client Operation’s division. It is in fact a microcosm for the business it supports. The team has full accountability from the initial process of budgeting, through execution, and on to reporting.

 

With a managed portfolio that represents hundreds of millions of dollars to the organization each year, the team has an unparalleled breadth and depth of involvement in multiple aspects of business management.

 

The WFM team believes very strongly in developing the next generation of leaders and is deeply committed in building strong team and to the success of its members.

 

At this time we are seeking a Database Administrator with a vast experience in server management and database development, maintenance and optimization of a server park. 

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage problems, incidents, production deployments, performance and capability, knowledge, security & vulnerability
  • Web administrator / support and deployment into production / web tool
  • Participate in application development and implementation
  • Understand expectations and recognize when issues/events may affect delivery
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions
  • Provide technical leadership.
  • Provide time estimates for projects.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Performance testing, software implementation, systems documentation
  • Offer support to internal customers on the programs developed
  • Documenting, designing, programming and implementing processes for compiling metrics and performing analysis leading to the identification of root causes or providing recommendations
  • Ensuring quality control while respecting predetermined business rules and deadlines
  • Enhancing and supporting existing reports and database infrastructures
  • Assisting various business units through alignment and implementation of plans to achieve targeted goals.
  • Available for assistance 24/7 when needed.

  

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree, or Masters in computer science, applied science / engineering, or related area
  • Microsoft certification will be consider an asset

 

Preferred Competencies:

  • Very good knowledge of MS SQL SSIS SSRS SSAS (2005/2008/2012)
  • Experience in an OLTP & DSS environment.
  • Experience with VB.Net: C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, JQuery, XML, AJAX,JSON, HTML5 -XHTML, CSS3; ASP,DOJO
  • Experience with Visual studio 2012
  • Experience with large data volume
  • Experience with modelisation star schema & data warehousing
  • Experience with replication, data base mirroring & clustering
  • Experience in relational database management, design and analysis on performance issues to deploy recommendations.
  • 2 years or more as database administrator
  • Knowledge of other database system such as Teradata / oracle / My SQL  
  • Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Access, MS Visual Basic, MS PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of BI/Query, MS Project, and ACDs (Symposium, Avaya,IEX or equivalent)
  • Strong Mathematical and analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication skills in spoken and written French and English
  • Autonomous, very dynamic, capable of decision making
  • High capacity to learn, work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
