Position: Video Graphic Artist – 2 positions

Reference Number: Winnipeg Video Graphic Sept 2014

Location: CTV Winnipeg

Salary: CEP 816M, Group VI

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Varying shifts, including evenings and weekends. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:
- Design graphic elements and animations for broadcast and client use
- Operate Harris Inscriber graphics system
- Operate WSI weather system
- Operate graphics applications (After Affects, Photoshop, Illustrator) for design
- Operate studio production equipment including audio mixers, teleprompters and cameras as needed
- Learn and become proficient with new systems as they become available
- Under the direction of senior editorial staff, sales and promotions, make decisions related to web content and design
- Capture and edit still images from video and photo archives
- Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in broadcasting, graphic arts or equivalent experience in digital media.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a broadcast environment or equivalent graphics industry related experience.
- Excellent skills in computer-based graphics applications (After Affects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Deamweaver, etc.)
- Familiar with Java script and Flash
- Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems quickly
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Excellent command of the English language, and excellent spelling skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and creative
- Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain creativity in a deadline-driven environment
- Able to work well independently and in a team environment
