Finance Manager – Hamilton and St.Catharines Radio

Bell Media is Canada’s premier multimedia company with leading assets in television, radio, out-of-home advertising, and digital media. This role provides an opportunity to work in an engaging, dynamic and fast paced environment. The successful candidate will play an integral part of the Financial Reporting and Planning group. This position could be based in either Hamilton or St. Catharines but would require travel between the two.

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

* Monthly A/R and other balance sheet account reconciliations
* Oversee bank deposits, balancing of cash receipts and cash receipt journal entries weekly
* Prepare adjustment and accrual journal entries
* Supervise local AP coding function and approve coding, oversee local payroll/HR functions
* Oversee airtime and non-airtime monthly billing. Liaise with sales department as required
* Oversee credit and collections of locally billed airtime and non-airtime receivables
* Oversee and final approve monthly commission calculations
* Contra reconciling and oversee contra handling locally
* Ad hoc analyses and requests from local management and corporate
* Monthly forecasting and budget – input and analysis
* Provide direction and leadership to accounting technicians, traffic and reception roles

Critical Qualifications:

* Completed post secondary accounting/business degree or diploma.
* Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a financial or analytical role.
* Detail-oriented, effective at managing time and prioritizing, a quick learner and critical thinker.
* Ability to take initiative and problem solve when information is not readily available.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to articulate views convincingly.
* Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization. Ability to work in a matrix style organizational structure.
* Proficient with standard Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

* CPA, CMA or CGA Certificate – or final stages of the process
* Broadcast Media experience would be an asset
* Working knowledge of SAP and/or BPC
* Working knowledge of Wide Orbit
