The Senior Manager Human Resources for the Retail organization is responsible for providing support and counsel to two VP Client groups and a team of Senior Specialists, Human Resources. They will drive the HR strategy supporting the Retail organization to include the Dealer channel as well as Corporate Stores which includes over 350 corporate stores across the country. They will drive key HR initiatives to include labour management, employee relations, engagement strategy, performance management amongst other HR processes and procedures. The Senior Manager role is a people leader with 7 direct reports.
They will report to the Director Human Resources for Bell Mobility/ Bell Residential Services/Brand and will be part of a national team of Senior Consultants Human Resources and the corporate Human Resource organization. They are responsible for implementing initiatives and practices that align with business unit and corporate strategy and goals. They also have accountability to influence a positive and professional work environment for all employees in our Dealer and Corporate Stores.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a strong, experienced HR Generalist with excellent consulting attributes paired with extensive knowledge of both Human Resources, Employee Relations and Retail best practices. They will be a people leader providing leadership to the team of direct reports.
* Executes and supports HR programs, tools and processes with the Senior Specialists and clients.
* Develop and implementation of HR programs, processes and projects
* Ensure HR references align to corporate and translated to client group
* Provides training and coaching to our management teams on HR
* programs and processes
* Acts as the contact person for head office client group and leader of Senior Specialists
* Promotes and executes programs in conjunction with the business
* Provides counsel and coaching to the VP’s and the Director team on effective performance management programs, salary and bonus treatment
* Provides Objective Performance training and coaching
* Facilitates semi-annual performance evaluation roundtables and the equitable calibration and assessment of performance
* Facilitate annual bonus and salary distribution
* Partners with the Executive Leadership Team on the creation of Succession and Talent management plans.
* Assist with the creation of succession plans
* Ensures there are established employee development plans for employee succession planning
* Works with Leadership team to ensure leadership talent is being developed and managed to support growth and expansion within the Retail channel.
* Facilitates and supports activities that contribute to a positive, healthy and respectful work environment.
* Acts as the employee advocate for fair treatment and growth of positive company culture
* Brings forth issues or concerns with the overall work environment
* Promotes and supports the execution of the employee satisfaction survey across the country and partners with the leadership team on the execution of action plans
* Supports the Health and Safety Programs in partnership with the H & S organization
* Partners with Bell Canada’s subject matter experts to ensure execution of corporate programs translate for consistency of programs and compliance with legislative standards.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of progressive Human Resources Experience preferably in a Retail environment
* Passion for people and pro-active people practices
* Knowledgeable of HR legislation and retail best practices
* Post Secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or Employee Relations
* Strong communication and facilitation skills
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, and plan/organize work with little supervision
* Driver’s License, a good driving record and ability to travel
*CHRP designation an asset
