Responsibilities:
- Assigning staff and resources for the production of domestic and foreign stories for all CTV News platforms
- Generating story ideas
- Taking part in the daily and long term planning of news coverage
- Act as a liaison with local stations, other networks and agencies to share costs, facilities and personnel for covering the news
- Writing and editing scripts, supervising edits, leading weekend assignment conference calls with other network platforms.
- Weekday planning and preparation for weekend shows
- Understanding and ability to book crew travel for breaking news
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in senior roles in news/information television programming
- In-depth knowledge of domestic and international news and current affairs
- Excellent organization skills, ability to meet deadlines and prioritize
- Computer skills
- Experience managing staff
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written
- Ability to work in a team, motivate staff and personally set the highest professional journalism standards
- Ability to travel if required
