This Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting the needs of Creative Design and Post Sound and Production Editing users. This includes software install and assistance with application use, plugins, setup and configuration of user accounts and new systems. As well; developing, installing, configuring, and managing the back-end computer systems, servers, infrastructure and applications supported by the Creative Technology Systems department.
Responsibilities and requirements:
Research, design and implement new innovative systems and applications to support both end users and the department members
* Maintain existing back-end systems including health monitoring, security patching and updating
* Workstation and OS update deployment configuration planning and evaluation
* Strong communication and documentation skills
* Effective and collaborative team member with excellent communication skills
* A knowledge of building and maintaining infrastructure to support a creative environment and the use of applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Pro Tools, Avid Media Composer, Cinema 4D, 3DS Max
* Knowledge and experience working in a Production/Broadcast Television environment
* Provide desktop (user) support to the Design and Post Production team and other Apple OS-based users where necessary
Skills/Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with advanced configuration and support of the following:
* Mac OS X in an enterprise (directory based) environment
* Mac OS X Server operation and configuration including Wiki, iCal
* Strong Windows OS skills
* Strong knowledge of command line administration and scripting including Bash and Python scripting
* JAMF Casper Suite (Apple inventory and profile management system)
* RedHat/CentOS Linux server installation and configuration including application management and comfort in compiling from source with dependencies where required
* Apache
* SNMP configuration
* LDAP/Active Directory integration and configuration on Linux and Mac OS with an understanding of Kerberos and other means of authentication
* Experience with large network storage systems such as Hitachi HNAS and transfer protocols such as NFS, CIFS, SMB, FTP, HTTP
* FileCatalyst Managed File Transfer
* CrushFTP
* Solar Winds Orion Network Performance Monitor
* VMware (ESXi)
* Apple Profile Management
* Apple SUS (Reposado)
* Adobe Enterprise Management Tools
