Responsibilities:
- Assigning staff and resources for the production of stories for CTV News
- Generating story ideas
- Taking part in the daily and long term planning of news coverage.
- Act as a liaison with local stations, other networks and agencies to share costs, facilities and personnel for covering the news.
- Writing and editing scripts, supervising edits, critiquing news material and booking feeds
- Supervising late Daily News Service feeds for affiliates
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous senior roles in news/information television programming
- In-depth knowledge of domestic and international news and current affairs
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and prioritize
- Experience with budget management
- Experience managing staff
- Excellent communications skills - oral and written
- Ability to work in a team, motivate staff and personally set the highest professional journalism standards.
- Thorough understanding of media law
- Ability to travel if required
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Afternoon/Evening shifts. Overtime as required.
