Bell Media Specialty Digital is seeking a talented and experienced Web Writer to work on a very exciting range of projects across several properties including Much.ca , thecomedynetwork.ca, Space.ca, and more.
We are looking for a highly organized and creative individual with strong experience in journalism, web writing, content and growth hacking.
Reporting into the Supervising Producer, Digital and liaising with external vendors, expectation of the role include:
* Lead writer of content on specialty properties and lead in acquiring content for our properties both internally and externally.
* Ownership of the editorial voice of our online properties which manifests into our blog, promotions, social networks and newsletters.
* Oversee seasonal, contracted and part-time writers, making story assignments and checking their work to ensure all content is grammatically correct, factually accurate and consistent with editorial policies and voice.
* Execute home-page content plan and voice, while also making independent and well-reasoned decisions based on real-time metrics and common sense.
* Driving viewership to online broadband properties through delivery of new programming and scheduling.
* Driving viewership on-air through online promotions on our Web priorities.
* Increase viewership of our digital properties through creative web writing
* Produce and pitch proprietary content pieces which could include, video blogs, photos, contests, games, interviews, and more.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* A minimum of five years working experience as a digital (online and/or mobile) producer or manager of content required.
* College Diploma or University Graduate in Journalism (or similar) required.
* Proven ability to generate innovative ideas that lead vs. follow required.
* Digital photography experience preferred.
* Digital videography experience preferred
* Knowledge of Bell Media Specialty brands
* Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work well with others and as part of a energetic team.
* Ability to write copy which expresses your original personality will be highly valued
* Pop Culture and television lover preferred.
* Working knowledge of HTML, WordPress, PhotoShop & Final Cut an asset.
