Position: Operations Floater

Location: 299 Queen St W, Toronto (Ontario)

Salary: Group F (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required. Shift work, weekend work.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Switching (emphasis on Ross switchers)
  • Audio Operation, both Analog and Digital
  • Camera Operation (may include robotics)
  • Lighting/Video
  • Media Playback (VTR and/or server)
  • Character Generator, Ross Xpression an asset

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an operations roll with an emphasis on switching and audio
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work in a fast paced News environment
  • A broad general knowledge of television technical theory particularly in the digital world
  • Demonstrate good leadership qualities
  • The demonstrated ability to succeed in a crew environment
  • Good leadership skills and be comfortable to act in a supervisory capacity when required
  • Experience with newsroom computer and software systems is a definite asset
  • Post-secondary education in broadcasting
