Hours of Work Approximately 20 hours per week. Hours will vary. Overtime as required based on operational needs. Will include working shift work including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities: Maintain and service all types of television broadcast equipment, specifically:
- Video production switchers and audio consoles
- Video content servers
- Digital Video Tape recorders
- RF Transmission and receiver systems both analogue and digital
- Satellite Receivers and frame synchronizers
- Non-Linear Editing Systems
- Windows/Mac/Unix Operating systems
- Networking systems - IT infrastructure
- ENG/EFP Camera systems
- On –Air automation systems
Maintenance and repair of Transmitter sites.
Will be required to stay abreast of industry and technological advances.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Recognized certificate in Engineering Technology
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with computer systems, networking systems or RF systems associated with a Broadcast environment
- Experience working in a remote mobile television environment is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of CAD systems.
- Excellent Communication and Teamwork skills.
- Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple assignments and tight deadlines
- Must have an overall understanding of the live program production process and a strong sense of urgency in solving technical requests to ensure a timely resolution is critical.
- Strong electronic trouble shooting skills to board level repairs
- Commitment to excellence and ongoing education in broadcast engineering.
- A valid G class driver’s license and good driving record
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
