Information on Division/Hiring Department/Career Opportunity:
This is a full time summer position located in the Bell Mississauga office location, terminating August 28, 2015. The position is within the Bell Mobility In Building RF Engineering & Network Performance group responsible for providing wireless solutions to various buildings in Ontario. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager – Access Network In Building Engineering & Operations, and will be responsible for supporting the existing full time staff of engineering professionals responsible for the design and optimization of Bell Mobility’s HSPA and LTE wireless In Building Distributed Antenna Systems. The selected candidate will work closely with various teams within Wireless Network Operations at Bell Mobility.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Assist Engineering staff in evaluating and implement solutions to improve network quality and performance in key In Building venues
- Use Bell Mobility Field test equipment to collect and post process network data
- Perform field visits as requested by RF design staff
- Perform data entry functions to assist updating RF design databases
- Post process & perform initial analysis of collected mobile communications walk test data for the network
- Produce required technical documentation
The successful candidate should possess:
- Minimum of 2 years of university completed in a technical discipline, preferably in Engineering (Electrical or Computer)
- Some basic familiarity with wireless concepts.
- Familiar with the usual office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Valid driver’s license
Other Important competencies/skills:
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Innovative and open minded to new techniques and technologies.
- Capacity and confidence to make decisions take responsibility and work autonomously.
- Ability to work on a fast paced team in a fast paced and changing environment.
