Position: CTV Morning Live Co-Producer (Out of Scope)

Location: CTV Saskatoon
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.
Responsibilities:
• Contributing to the look and production of CTV Saskatoon Morning Show
• Producing editorial line-up
• Taking CTV Morning Live show to air
• Preparing for and producing live and live to tape segments
• Initiating ideas for stories and coverage
• Monitoring feeds and servers for content
• Writing news scripts show elements
• Preparing and supervising graphic elements
• Vetting reporter and web scripts when required
• Working with News Director, Morning Live Producer, and on-air talent in preparation for all news programs, live special events, remotes, elections
• Contributing to the station’s ongoing diversity initiatives, and actively reflect the diversity of the Saskatoon community in daily news coverage
• Representing CTV Saskatoon in the community as required
• Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Two years’ experience as a newsroom show producer
• Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast program or related television news experience
• Proven editorial news judgment with high journalistic standards
• Solid understanding of broadcast law
• Superior communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Good creative writing skills
• Ability to make quick decisions and thrive in a deadline-driven, team environment
• Live control room experience
• In-depth knowledge of and interest in news and current affairs
•Knowledge of iNews, Gateway and Velocity PRX considered assests
