The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.
The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.
Description:
Bell IT Delivery, Telecom Services Department is responsible for the ongoing planning, design, and oversight of the data and voice network to support internal Bell requirements.
The Infrastructure planning group is currently seeking a qualified Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate must be people-oriented with great analytical and communication skills. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to impact and influence business decisions and successfully work with cross functional teams. This individual must also have strong engagement management skills, solid business acumen, deep technical insights with the ability to speak in both business and technical terms.
Working closely with other team members such as project managers, technical advisors, operations and support groups, our new BA will be accountable to gather, document, and analyze systems and process requirements for developing and implementing Bell IT infrastructure solutions.
Job duties / accountabilities:
This role would include, but is not limited to, the following activities:
- Interpret conceptual business needs and document requirements
- Ability to collect and evaluate data from multiple sources
- Gather and analyze requirements to create a business requirements document
- Acquire deep knowledge of systems and their interdependencies to drive improved efficiencies and effective changes
- Development and documentation of System Requirements Specification
- Understand technical designs and specifications and comply to architecture models (use cases, conceptual, logical, interfaces)
- Identify, evaluate and document operational changes to improve information and processing systems
- Drive the technical resolution of issues arising from changes to scope, requirements, design, etc
- Identify and quantify risks relevant to business and systems requirements.
- Maintain productive professional client relationships
- Resolve conflicts between differing requirements presented by business versus IT
- Develop and/or execute test plans and test cases including defining test conditions, negative testing and regression testing, tracking and documenting results
Required Qualifications/Competencies:
The successful candidate MUST possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in and area such as such as Information systems, computer science, engineering or Business Administration
- BA Certification with proven track record of 5+ years of Business Analyst experience delivering requirements and documentation for mid to large size projects in a complex business and IT environment
- Analytical ability to extract, integrate, conceptualize and apply ideas, processes and information to create solutions in a constantly changing technological and business environment
- Skill in business process modeling and business process documentation
- Ability to effectively negotiate and positively influence decision making to drive change
- Dynamic collaboration with multiple project team members (project managers, other BA’s, architecture, business sponsors, etc.) and effectively balance competing priorities and timelines
- Effectively communicate with internal IT teams, vendors, and the business requirements, gaps, technical solutions, defects, and risks
- Ability to identify, explore and evaluate options on processes, methodologies and information technology solutions in order to support the design of new business systems and develop feasible recommendations
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed with proactive approach to problem solving, multi-task oriented team member with ability to self-manage tasks to completion within structured timelines
- Ability to troubleshoot and learn new technologies
- Ability to challenge the status quo and think outside the box
- Familiarization with project management methodologies and life cycles
- Working knowledge of Unified communications, IP telephony, and data networking
- Experience working with Contact Centre systems (process i.e. Cisco UCCE, Avaya Aura, CTI, IVR etc…) and business/workforce management processes
- Management level knowledge of enterprise-level applications PEATS, PORT, SAP, Ariba, etc
- Strong PC skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Project, Visio)
- Be willing to travel on occasion
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
