As part of the WN-OSS (Wireless Network Operation Support Systems) team, reporting to the OSS System Integration Performance & Business Intelligence Manager, the successful candidate will be providing reporting solutions to the different Wireless Network engineering and operational teams. Working with other reporting specialists he will define these solutions and see to their development and implementation allowing Bell Mobility to manage its daily operations and take tactical and/or strategic decisions to meet our business objectives.
Job Duties
- Creating functional specifications for the reports and semantic layer,
- Developing, maintaining and improving the reports and semantic layer,
- Taking the lead and investigating issues,
- Writing stored procedures for the execution of the reports,
- Meeting planned dates for execution, functionalities, quality and project cost
- Building, revising and executing test plans for the accuracy of the reports and semantic layer,
- Is responsible for unit tests;
- Participates in Quality Assurance reviews;
- Updating the DML (Definitive Media Library) following the version control process.
Essential Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering in a related field (Computer Science)
- 5 to 8 years of great working experience using MicroStrategy suite of products (current version 9.4.1).
- 5 to 8 years of great working experience administrating MicroStrategy suite of products.
- 2-3 years of working experience administrating SAS Reporting Suite.
- Strong knowledge of databases : SYBASE 12.5.4, ORACLE 10g and 11g, SQL Server 2005
- Working knowledge of T_sql, pl/sql, sql (Oracle, sql server, Sybase).
- Experience in a BI (Business Intelligence) environment
- Experience working in the Telecommunications industry (if possible).
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
- Work experience on SAP Business Objects XI SP 3.1 (Crystal Reports, Xcelsius, Web Intelligence and Universe Designer).
- Work experience on SAS.
- Bilingual (French/English) who has the capacity to adapt his communication to most of the situations and audience. Proficient in planning his communications, facilitating a meeting or workshop;
- Able to proactively plan his/her work over multiple timeframes – week-months-year and juggle multiple priorities and deliver as per commitments;
- Able to plan and execute complex tasks without supervision, identify potential roadblocks and mobilise resources to remove them and achieve goals;
- Able to identify and analyze complex problem, identify root cause, provide detailed description and plan, design and deliver workaround/solution;
- Capable to evaluate without supervision the effort & time required to complete a deliverable and/or task thru collaboration, teamwork, honesty, commitment and respect;
- Basic knowledge of cost drivers associated with OSS systems deployment and operations with the ability to develop simple business cases for projects;
- Comfortable interviewing non-technical people to gather/discuss requirements;
- Knowledgeable of ITIL, eTOM and TOGAF with ability apply management of change principles in the deployment of new processes or change to existing process;
- Gets easily acquainted to new technologies e.g. programming language within 2-3 days;
- Wireless/Telecom Operations and Engineering business Knowledge including basic understanding of Radio access, Core network and Value added Services technologies and configurations.
