Responsibilities:
• Report for all CTV News platforms as determined by assignment desk
• Cover international stories as assigned by the Foreign Assignment editor
• News gather in the field and work with international partners to provide the most comprehensive reports and talkbacks for CTV National News and other CTV News platforms
• Responsible for editorial direction of the bureau
• Ongoing generation of story ideas
• Manage bureau resources and staff
• Manage bureau logistics including travel in coordination with assignment desk
• Work collaboratively with the assignment desk
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• University degree in Journalism
• Extensive experience reporting for television and/or print
• Extensive knowledge of world geopolitics, as well as European issues
• Fresh and creative story telling abilities
• Excellent writing skills
• Superior on-camera presentation
• Rock solid organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Comfort using new technologies and digitally savvy
• Ability to travel extensively on very short notice for extended periods
• Ability to work in hostile environments
• Ability to work long hours
• Strong interpersonal skills
• French or other language an asset
